Participants met up for coffee or breakfast at Taco Bell, which is located on the former towpath of the Pennsylvania & Ohio Canal. Then we drove and walked along abandoned interurban railway tracks, which were laid on top of the filled-in canal north of Broad Street, before visiting West Branch Falls Park, the likely site of a new historical marker about the P&O Canal. After that, a kind resident of nearby Ravenna Road, invited us behind his historic home to see a long watered section of the remaining canal. Then we toured the WW II USO building on Quarry Street, before walking across the 1831 covered bridge, which was temporarily closed to vehicular traffic pending repairs. After that, we all enjoyed a catered buffet luncheon at Roby Lee's restaurant.
